Quick Start Guide

Creating Your First Challenge

  1. Open Tenetly and tap "Start New Challenge"
  2. Add up to 8 daily tasks (e.g., "Drink 8 glasses of water", "Exercise for 30 minutes")
  3. Choose your challenge duration (30, 60, 75, or 90 days)
  4. Set your start date (today or a future date)
  5. Tap "Start Challenge" to begin!

Daily Progress

  • Check off completed tasks by tapping the checkbox next to each task
  • Your progress is automatically saved
  • Complete all tasks each day to maintain your streak

Notifications

  • Go to Settings to enable daily reminder notifications
  • Choose from preset times or set a custom time
  • Notifications will only appear during your active challenge period

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

Q: How many tasks can I add to a challenge?
A: You can add up to 8 tasks per challenge. Each task should be something you can complete daily.

Q: Can I edit my tasks after starting a challenge?
A: Currently, tasks cannot be edited once a challenge has started. This is by design to maintain the integrity of your commitment.

Q: What happens if I miss a day?
A: If you miss checking in for a day, you'll be prompted to backfill yesterday's tasks when you return. If you missed completing tasks, your challenge will end, but you can start a new one anytime.

Q: Can I have multiple challenges running at once?
A: No, you can only have one active challenge at a time. This helps you focus on building consistent habits.

Challenge Management

Q: Can I pause my challenge?
A: Challenges cannot be paused. The goal is to build consistent daily habits. If you need to stop, you can end your current challenge and start a new one later.

Q: What if I accidentally mark a task as complete?
A: You can tap the checkbox again to uncheck a completed task, as long as it's the same day.

Q: Can I see my challenge history?
A: Yes! Go to the Progress tab to see your completed challenges and overall statistics.

Q: What challenge durations are available?
A: You can choose from 30, 60, 75, or 90-day challenges. The 75-day option is inspired by the popular "75 Hard" challenge.

Notifications

Q: I'm not receiving notifications. What should I do?
A:

  1. Check that notifications are enabled in Tenetly Settings
  2. Verify notification permissions are granted in your device Settings > Notifications > Tenetly
  3. Make sure "Do Not Disturb" mode isn't blocking notifications
  4. Try setting a different notification time

Q: Can I change my notification time?
A: Yes! Go to Settings and choose from preset times (8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, 10:00 PM) or set a custom time using the time picker.

Q: Why do I get notifications even when my challenge hasn't started?
A: This was a bug in earlier versions that has been fixed. Notifications now only appear during your active challenge period.

Data and Privacy

Q: Is my data safe?
A: Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device. We don't collect personal information or sync your data to any servers.

Q: What happens to my data if I delete the app?
A: Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all your data. Make sure you're okay with losing your challenge history before uninstalling.

Q: Can I backup my data?
A: Currently, there's no built-in backup feature since all data is stored locally. Your data is tied to your device.

Q: Do you track my usage?
A: No, we don't use any analytics or tracking. Your privacy is important to us.

Troubleshooting

App Issues

Problem: App crashes or freezes

  • Force close the app and reopen it
  • Restart your device
  • Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store
  • If the issue persists, contact support

Problem: Tasks not saving

  • Make sure you have sufficient storage space on your device
  • Try force closing and reopening the app
  • If the problem continues, contact support

Problem: Notification badge won't clear

  • Open the app - the badge should clear automatically
  • If it doesn't, try force closing the app and reopening it
  • This was a known issue that has been fixed in recent updates

Display Issues

Problem: Time picker showing "..." instead of AM/PM

  • This has been fixed in recent updates
  • Update to the latest version from the App Store
  • If you still see this issue, try restarting the app

Problem: Buttons or text appear cut off

  • Make sure you're using the latest app version
  • Try rotating your device and rotating back
  • If the issue persists on smaller screens, contact support
